Sponsored by the Harold KL Castle Foundation and the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, this is a scholarship to attend the Honolulu Community College Summer CTE Academy for students who have faced challenges and barriers that have limited their chances at exploring skilled trade careers.

The V2V Grit Summer Scholarship lets you roll up your sleeves and explore real careers like carpentry, welding, diesel mechanics, and automotive*. If your school didn’t offer classes like these, you didn’t know they were an option, or you’ve never had the support to check them out—this is your moment.
This scholarship gives you the chance to attend the Honolulu Community College Summer CTE Academy for free, and be fully immersed in the trades. You’ll build confidence and gain hands-on exposure in a supportive environment where you can explore your path–without pressure or judgment.
*Note: You’ll explore three skilled trades. Final class selection will be made by the scholarship committee based on availability from carpentry, welding, diesel mechanics, or automotive.
